Kia ora! I am a Year 7 student in Room 5 at Ahipara School, in the Far North of New Zealand. My teacher is Ms Peters. This is where I share my learning. Please leave a positive, thoughtful, helpful comment.
The first people to invent money was the Lydians. However, historians are not sure who was the first person to invent money. The year when money was invented was around 700BC.
Kia ora Hunter, this is Zana from the summer learning journey. This a great post I can tell you have done some research. The Lydians were the first westernised people to invent money, yes. They used a currency of coins with a set value like how we do today. I think before money was invented people just traded goods and services like swapping two pies for a pair of shoes or fixing someone's roof in exchange for a new blanket. Historians think before the Lydians people also used metal items as a form of money. Ngā mihi nui, Zana Yates
